Adam Marshall is one of the leaders of Canadas fertile electronic music community. His raw house groove and minimal techno roots combine to create a future style of soul. In both live and DJ performances, Adam has the ability to explore the full spectrum between the deepest techno-funk to the most jacking house. His current release, the Remote Culture EP on Cynosure Records (2006), has been creating a buzz in both the techno and house worlds with its killer basslines and jazz-style hooks. Growing up in Toronto, Adam had access to the burgeoning mid-90's Detroit techno scene. He combined this minimal aesthetic with his love for deep house to create his distinct dance-floor style that he advances to this day. During that time, he worked as the lead buyer at Speed Records; then Toronto's most well-known import vinyl store. Adam was a resident at the legendary Blue nights, which introduced the city to DJ's like Robert Hood, Richie Hawtin, DJ Hell, Marco Carola, Traxx, Slam, Ron Trent and Theo Parrish. He worked closely with other artists such as Jeremy P. Caulfield (Dumb-Unit), Jeff Milligan (Revolver), and Mike Shannon (Cynosure) to produce events that broke new ground and showcased the up-and-coming Canadian sound. Though touring frequently throughout the US and Canada, he found time to concentrate on his production and created a defined sound of his own. His label, Killer Recordings was started in 1999, and released a set of strong EP's from Jake Fairley, Matt Thibadeau, and Adam himself. His current productions range from the stripped down minimal sound on his Experimental House Approach EP on Chicago's Antenna International all the way to his indie disco collaboration with Polmo Polpo on Supesharu Recordings. Recently, Adam has been the resident at the infamous Terra events in Toronto while regularly playing events throughout North and South America, Europe and Japan.
