Biography

Giorgio Gigli's passion for music and collecting vinyl led him to start work as a DJ in the early 90s, playing a unique blend of deep house and techno. His sound has taken a more electronic direction over the years, and his reputation for deep, hypnotic sets has seen him play in leading European clubs including Goa (Rome), Pulp (Paris) and Hard Club (Portugal). He has played alongside such luminaries as Swayzak, Kyoto Jazz Massive, Dzihan & Kamien, Tutto Matto and Bruno Lepetre to name a few. He has been working on his own electronic music productions since 1999, and is currently a key figure of the Rome-based minimal house label Elettronica Romana. The first release on the label, Chiki Disco EP‚ (produced alongside Donato Dozzy) was well received by the electronic music community. Subsequently he has engaged himself in solo productions which have beed released by Dumb-Unit and Elletronica Romana. Giorgio Gigli's productions are a journey into subtle and hypnotic minimalism, jacking forward with crisp hi-hats, tough pulses and complex engineering of firm syncopated beats.
